       Começou desmatando e hoje é o maior plantador de árvores do país. Já velho, não vai ver os frutos do que faz. Derrubou árvores de cem anos. Matou muitos pássaros que mal nasceram, muitos sabiás, arapongas, bem-te-vis, uirapurus recém-nascidos morreram olhando para o céu que nunca chegaram a cruzar voando. Para ele, que nascera na cidade, índio era bicho-do-mato e tinha que ser tratado a ponta de faca e bala. O maior plantador não conhece as leis da mãe-terra. Não conhece aqueles que habitam nas matas. O maior plantador de hoje foi o que mais matou, mais derrubou. Mas um povo tem muito a nos ensinar:

Os índios
       A natureza lhes deu leis que ensinavam como não agredí-la e eles aprenderam a preservá-la bem como a toda a forma de vida da terra. Eles foram os primeiros habitantes da América, estes homens que estavam sempre caçando e pescando a fim de sobreviverem.
E desde sua tenra idade eles aprenderam como respeitar a natureza. Como viviam em prerfeita harmonia com o meio eles observaram que tudo à sua volta era corelacionado.
Pensam que a natureza é como mãe porque lhes dá o alimento que necessitam para viver. A mãe-natureza lhes dá a vida. E sabem como preservá-la. A terra-mãe é sua própria sobrevivência é sua fonte de vida.
       Cada um sabe que o que é deles é a terra em comum. Não existe propriedade privada.
Não existe filho deserdado, a mãe é para todos. Estes povos são conhecidos como índios
e são ditos como selvagens e habitam as matas deste continente do norte ao sul e nós vamos mostrar algumas das suas lendas de preservação daquilo que não é nosso, mas que pertence à todos. A mãe-natureza.
